I also installed "Yamaha Digital Music Notebook". I saved all the files in "My Documents" and I told it to use COM 1. Prior to doing this, I had installed a MIDI driver. I turned everything off, and switched the host select to "PC-2" So maybe the first question is do I need a cable that does something special, or is it okay if it just fits in the TO HOST port on the piano and the serial port on the computer? Yamaha used to make a cable for this, but now it's discontinued. It's not a special midi cable, it just connects the two ports that have to be connected. I bought the cable from a computer store. This cable hooks into the D-Sub 9-Pin serial port on the back of the PC and into the "HOST" port on the piano. I bought a serial cable that connects the piano to my computer. I used the guide located at: http:/ / / product/ cvp-204/ manual/ en_US/ clavinovaConnectivity.pdf I have done everything that I think I should have done to connect it to my IBM PC but it didn't work.
